Test and Development Engineer.
This would suit Test & Development or Test & Validation Engineers
Stafford – Fully onsite Position
Do you have experience of Test & Development of mechanical components or systems used in high value engineering industries, such as Automotive, Aerospace or Special Purpose Machinery?
Do you have experience of APQP, FMEA & 8D Issue Resolution?

18 mth+ contract (that’s likely to extend beyond too)
£42 – £43ph FCSA Umbrella (the role is deemed inside IR35) or £31 – £32.50 paye
Hybrid work model available 3 days on site, 2 days from home – (after initial training/coming up to speed)
You may be a graduate with strong mechanical engineering theory, with some experience within engineering or have gained your experience through industry work.
We are looking to add additional people to a tight, close knit team within this company are looking to source an additional 2 people to this growing team.
The role will be long standing, and part of a long term project within this company
Test & Validation Engineer – Components
You will have responsibility for the end-to-end design and development process for components and systems. This will give you true product ownership and you will see the products through to volume production
Key responsibilities:
- Technical project leadership of the delivery of components & systems on New Product Introduction programmes.
- Development & validation of components and systems.
- Technical leadership for problem resolution on components & systems.
- Follow the validation plan, arranging supplier, bench and engine tests with the support of the validation lead
- Investigate and resolve technical issues which arise from tests, using 8D methodology (establish containment actions, diagnose root cause, develop permanent corrective actions)
- Assessment of test results / data analysis.
Essential skills required:
- Strong technical background (technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications / experience will be considered.
- Good understanding of component development & systems.
- Strong APQP Experience
- Able to carry out complex FMEA’s
- Exposure & strong experience in 8D issue Resolution
- Self-motivation and an ability to manage & deliver tasks to meet established commitments.
- Excellent communications skills & teamwork
