NPI Quality Assurance Engineer
This role may also suit a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location – Peterborough
£35 – £37.50 FCSA Umbrella (this role is deemed inside IR35)
£26.50 paye
Some Hybrid working available (Min 3days pw onsite in Peterborough)
 
Supporting an complex engineering & manufacturing environment which produces high value equipment.
This is a unique time to join a company who are experiencing growth and looking to recruit a person who will become a key player in the company and will have a big influence on the quality engineering parts of this business.
They are looking for a Quality professional who can join them and develop NPI Projects with a view to aftermarket applications and help steer the companies NPI quality processes for years to come.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Providing QA support to the manufacturing areas and projects
  • To work closely with other Quality Engineer to ensure the supporting departments provide the objective evidence that demonstrates compliance.
  • To provide Key business metrics that demonstrates compliance to internal and customer requirements
  • Ability to analyse and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Support the business cases and development of innovative aftermarket parts and service solutions utilising industry knowledge and expertise to drive to successful market launch.
  • Implement new or improve existing solutions and processes, using key metrics to drive parts revenue and percentage of parts sales (POPS) growth.
  • Work with all levels of management to identify and implement continuous improvement processes with measurable results.
  • Responsibility in ensuring the service level for all parts is set correctly and reviewed to ensure maximum parts growth.
  • You will have extensive knowledge, recognition and expertise to positively influence and educate all levels from product launch and through the entire product Life Cycle.
  • Work with suppliers to drive testing down the supply chain and introduce CoCs where possible.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve or improve quality issues and to implement effective corrective action. 
  • Aid in the supplier approval process.  Work with purchasing department to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported.
  • Work with NPI team, performing studies on new equipment to establish control points and correct settings.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Serve as resource for problem identification, improvement, and resolution.
  • Provide support for customer representatives in regards to quality issues.
  • Create and maintain a critical supplier audit schedule.  Conduct audits to drive process standardisation, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
  • To ensure prompt corrective and preventative action against nonconforming product and internal/external audit actions.
  • To release product in accordance with the company BMS.
  • To create relevant procedures as part of the continuous improvement programme.

 
 
Experience

  • Ability to lead by influence and communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Extensive knowledge of NPI, Product deletion, brand, design change, aftermarket systems, processes, service, repair, and overhaul solutions. This experience may come from Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or NPI Quality Engineering
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, organisation, prioritisation, and change management skills.
  • Some knowledge of parts marketing and sales functionality would be advantageous.
  • You will have excellent project management skills, able to work across functions such as Product Development, Engineering, Quality, Supply chain, Manufacturing, and Operations.
  • Must be able to complete analysis and provide direction using complex data sets.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings utilising Teamcenter or equivalent engineering systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacture,
  • Supplier development,
  • Understanding of DFMEA, PFMEA,
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Self-motivated individual who can take the initiative to complete tasks
  • Past success in technical troubleshooting
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities using systemic, logical, and sequential approaches
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO requirements
