We are looking for a category buyer on behalf of a global automotive company in Desford. This is a role with variety and an opportunity to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and executing the indirect purchasing category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogues, and special procurement programs.
• Recognising the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
• Acting as the liaison between the company and suppliers to clearly communicate information.
• Documenting the suppliers’ performance and maintaining a strong relationship with key suppliers.

Requirements:

• Indirect purchasing experience
• Strong knowledge of Excel
• Experience with contracts and negotiations
• Strong analytical skills
