We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer based in Reading, Berkshire.
This is going to be a permanent position and the salary will range from £50,000 - £65,000 per annum + bonus and equity scheme.
This is a great opportunity to join a new start up at a key point in its development and to become a key contributor in the planning, set up and control of the organisations Quality Management and Assurance Systems.
You will be expected to have experience and knowledge of New Product Development and Introduction (Product Realisation) processes and must have worked in a complex electronics / electromechanical environment.
A background in design for manufacture, supplier development, and experience of working with contract manufactures is essential for this role.
You will be responsible for Project and Supply Quality Assurance through ownership and management of the APQP and PPAP/FAI activities and will be the main point of contact for technical quality input and reviews.
Job duties and responsibilities
Develop the companies supply quality assurance manual and support in the set up and maintenance of an approved supply chain
Improve the companies project quality assurance processes and procedures whilst providing the quality input and assurance review support to all projects
Establish good relations with suppliers and customers quality representatives and lead / support audits where required
Support the NPI team to establish and develop with the contract manufacturer / suppliers / partners quality procedures and documentation to ensure compliance, accuracy, efficiency, and clarity of requirements
Support in the development of the returns, non-conformance, and associated RCA investigation processes to ensure effective data analysis and reporting is provided to the engineering teams
Ensure project adherence to all relevant regulatory legislation and to provide approval of internal documentation
Manage lessons learnt reviews and feedback to enable effective continual improvement, corrective / preventative action activities
Provide Engineering / Technical teams with experience and knowledge in document generation and authoring to meet project / customer needs
Must have experience working within electronics
Experience of managing projects through use of APQP or delivery of projects to meet ECSS requirements
Capability to generate, manage and review PPAP and FAI documentation
Ability to facilitate Design and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis meetings
Familiar with problem solving techniques (5Y, 8D, Ishikawa etc.)
Demonstrated “in field” experience of supplier evaluation, auditing, development, and management of performance metrics
Ability to travel on request to support supplier quality assurance activities (Estimated 25%)
Strong process and continual improvement skills
Must be detail focused but with the ability to multitask, and to manage deliverables and handle multiple projects at the same time
Confident with working across multifunctional teams and excellent communicator to senior and junior colleagues both verbally and in writing
Experienced user of Microsoft office, must be able to manipulate and analyse data within excel
Strong customer (internal / external) management skills and ability to convey the VOC within the Projects
Must have high integrity, be a team player and have good interpersonal / facilitation skills to drive proactive quality input to designs
Lead auditor / auditing qualification to at least ISO9001
Working knowledge of ECSS / ISO 9001 / AS9100 requirements
