Senior Quality Systems Auditor

Location: near Rugby

Salary : £35,000 to £40,000 per year

The Role

As a Lead Auditor/Auditor you will support the supplier selection and approval process to ensure that suitability and compliance to the Company Supplier Requirements Manual and Product design data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with UK CAA Part 21G, Part 21O, Part 145, EASA Part 145 & AS9100 Approvals
  • Consistent identification, improvement and development to the internal BMS
  • Perform regular audits of the BMS
  • Report on audit conclusions and corrective actions
  • Perform regular audits of suppliers against their own BMS
  • Perform regular performance reviews of suppliers
  • Support application and development of Q-Pulse to manage Quality activities (I.e. Calibration and Stamp registers)
  • Provide internal awareness training to all employees (Induction, counterfeit awareness, certifying staff, Part 21G, Product handling, FAI)
  • Review supplier submitted FAI’s
  • Support the development and implementing new systems into the company where required
  • Develop new training programs
  • Support regulatory, certification body and customer audits
  • Plan and support/prepare bi-annual management reviews
  • On-boarding of supplier, including initial audits
  • Raise and manage CAR (Full 8D - Containment, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventative Actions).
  • Validate Supplier FAIR.
  • Raise and issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Strong experience in working with Quality Management Systems within the aerospace industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of aerospace quality standards and requirements (formal ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100 qualifications)
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant aerospace regulatory standards (EASA part 21G, EASA part 145, EASA part 21O, EASA part 21J)
  • Proven experience in auditing (internal and suppliers) and managing the audit programme
  • Valid internal / lead auditor certificate for ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100
  • In-depth understanding of quality tools and techniques and quality control procedures
  • Understanding of DOA-POA agreements, certifying staff, human factors and FOD and FAIR requirements
  • Experience in liaison with third parties, including, but not limited to certification bodies, regulatory authorities (i.e. EASA, CAA), customers and suppliers
  • Experience in managing audits in the aerospace OASIS database
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret data and statistics
  • Proven experience with driving root cause identification and corrective and preventive action implementation through structured problem-solving techniques (such as 8D) with Suppliers and Internally.
  • Experience guiding colleagues through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation as structured problem-solving subject matter expert.
  • Strong organisational, reporting, procedure writing & process mapping skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent Q-Pulse knowledge and experience is required.
  • EPICOR (ERP) software experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
