Job Description


An Immediate requirement for a Cable Wiring Assemblers to join my client based in Cirencester.

Responsibilities: To cut, strip, prepare, group, solder, crimp, terminate, test and bag simple and complex custom and bespoke cable assemblies, wiring looms, customers wiring schedules, drawings, samples or procedures. To carry out some mechanical assembly if required. Any other duties consider relevant to the above including; writing build procedures & notes, keeping your immediate working environment clean & tidy and contributing towards matters relating to Health & Safety.
If you have experience as a wirer or have worked with a loom or harness shop this work will be ideal. These Assemblies are around the size of a a typical workbench and not large in size.

So if you are a wirer, loom builder, or harness build technician this could be a very interesting constantly changing bench based role


Job Requirements:
Have good eyesight and a steady hand!
Be able to read wiring schedules, parts lists, cable drawings and follow written procedures.
Know how to strip, prepare, identify, terminate and group cables & wires together.
Have sound knowledge and experience of crimping processes and methods and be able to recognise the difference between a good and bad crimp and solder joint.
Ability to set up crimp tools, heat shrink tools and utilise soldering equipment
Be familiar with cable accessories like, Heatshrink, Cable Ties, and Sleeving etc.
Have a basic understanding of wire types and insulation properties and familiarisation with the hand tools used to manufacture cables.
Some mechanical components may also be used on some assemblies so experience of mechanical assembly along with familiarisation of modern manufacturing techniques would be desirable.

This role is expected to start asap, is expected to last at least 3-6 months (this is highly likely to be a very long term project.

Currently offering around 45-50 hours pw

Pay £17 - £18 ph (Ltd)
