Responsible for the Projects, Design and Software teams in meeting customer driven deadlines.
Purpose of the Role
To lead the Projects, Design and Software teams to ensure delivery is achieved, accurately and on time and to a high standard.
To develop and manage the Farnborough UK systems engineering and project management capability.
To manage the Projects, Mechanical Design, Electronic Design and Software Development teams. This includes:
The mentoring and development of the team.
To monitor, review and manage the performance of all team members on a regular basis through monthly one-to-one's.
Ensuring clear goals and objectives are set, understood and achieved.
Identify training needs.
To lead the team to support the delivery of annual business plans/objectives as agreed with the UK Vice President.
Ensure channels of communication are in place to cascade relevant information to the teams through monthly team meetings.
To develop and optimise the processes and procedures within the team.
Work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business.
To be responsible for the quality and accuracy of all work undertaken by the team members.
To ensure that all activities within the team are fully documented in the Quality Management System (QMS) and that all staff within the teams work in accordance with these defined processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified to HNC level.
Strong appreciation of Design, Projects and Engineering processes.
Project management and systems design experience.
Excellent leadership skills with experience leading a team.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent time management and organisation skills.
The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
Good numeracy skills
Attention to detail.
Experience managing a budget.
The package as follows:
Salary up to £60,000 per annum.
The salary is reviewed annually in October and you are eligible for an increase in the year of joining providing you have a minimum 6 months' notice.
PRP bonus scheme paid out in October, not eligible in the year of joining.
20 days holiday (increases with service) plus 3 complimentary days for the Christmas shutdown plus public holidays.
Full company sick pay up to 4 months in a 12 month period, eligible after 6 months.
Company pension scheme with a 5% employer contribution and a minimum 3% employee contribution, eligible after 3 months.
Non-contributory (taxable) private healthcare scheme that covers pre-existing conditions, eligible after 6 months.
Free on-site parking.
The working hours are quite flexible. You can start between 08.00-09.30, if you take a 30 minute lunch break you can finishing between 16.15-17.45 and if you take a 1 hour lunch break you can finish between 16.30-18.00 Monday to Thursday, and from 15.00 (30 minute lunch break) or from 15.30 (1 hour lunch break) on Fridays.
