Are you an experienced Mechanical Inspector?
Are you experienced with operating a CMM (programming not essential)?
Are you able to compile FAIRs/ISIRs Report & do this without supervision?
If the answer is yes I have an opportunity to work in the quality department of a well respected & growing manufacturer.
The role is offered on a contract basis with an hourly rate up to £25 - £28 per hour (ltd) for the successful candidate.
You will be undertaking mechanical inspection of aerospace components and finished assemblies, working to engineering drawings and using traditional inspection methods as well as a CMM with visual attachments and vision measuring systems.
You will need to be able to operate all areas of the measuring equipment and be competent in its operation
The successful candidate will have the following experience and knowledge:
Mechanical Inspection / Self Inspection is from a machining or similar background
Experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings
A background in manufacturing / engineering
Experience of using traditional inspection tools and equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges etc)
Working knowledge of GDT (geometrical dimensional tolerancing)
Working with Aerospace components
Experience of using hand tools
Operating a CMM machine with vision measuring attachments
This is an ongoing contract likely to last at least 3 months, and may have the potential to extend beyond this

We do have flexibility in these hours and the work could be condensed into 4 days
Currently 40 - 45 hours pw, although this can increase from time to time
Location: Outskirts of Yeovil
