Job Description

I am currently recruiting for an Industrial Engineer for a multi-national manufacturer of heavy machinery.
You will be part Design Engineer, part Manufacturing Engineer, part Production Engineer.

The role is offered on a permanent basis offering a salary of £35 - £50K. The higher end salary is there for candidates that most closely match the required skills and experience, however there is an opportunity for candidates that need development. A candidate with strong potential and the right attitude will go a long way.

To be considered, candidates will have all or some of the following skills, experience and qualifications.
Experience of heavy machined components in alloy steels, welded fabrication and vehicle electro-mechanical production assembly.
An understanding of GD&T with the ability to identify key characteristics and datum structures.

The role

Industrial Engineering
Developing and resolving assembly load path and tooling access issues through the provision of Power Point slides to create Industrial Engineering Concerns or DFM submission documentation as required.
Presenting Industrial Engineering data and models across function to Engineering, Finance and Management to support DFM and UPC Cost Management activities to support process improvement and product commonality opportunities.
Demonstrating a good understanding of datum structure and be able to identify functional datum features and key characteristics as designs are created with the additional ability to analyse tolerances and present tolerance stack guidelines for a given assembly or structure.
Manufacturing Engineering
Support Manufacturing Engineering providing tooling designs and facility planning solutions, delivering CAD model data identifying key interface requirements to engineered components with tooling models.


Supply Chain
Produce sheet material nesting layouts for material utilisation and cost management to support Supply Chain RFQ preparation as well as investigating alternative material solutions to existing Engineering proposals.
