I am currently recruiting a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager with extensive working knowledge of ISO 14001, NEBOSH and REACH. You will be working in an (aerospace) manufacturing environment and will also have responsibility for facilities management and oversight of the maintenance team
The successful applicant will ensure the delivery of Health, Safety and Environment, BCM plans as well as the management of all site facilities.
The role is offered on a contract paying a daily rate of up to £260 LTD and is expected to last for a minimum 6 months, most likely much longer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that Health & Safety and Environmental legislation is complied with ensuring all statutory H&S requirements are fully met
Management of contractors in accordance with the H&S at Work Act
Management of H&S Including responsibility for safe systems of work (e.g. permit to work systems)
Management of all records and drawings for distributions systems for basic utilities such as process gas, compressed air, vacuum, water, chilled water extraction etc
Management of site services and facilities including security, fire-alarms, general fabric of building, statutory regulations, vending machines, etc
Manage reactive and planned maintenance schedules as required
Develop and manage environmental management systems and ISO 1400 accreditation
Develop annual budgets, forecasting and maintaining expenditure within agreed parameters
Manage the site BCM programme
Manage the legionella control scheme
Short-term assignments as required
Directly supervise employees in the Maintenance and Facilities department.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
4+ years related experience
ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification or equivalent environmental qualification.
Experience of man-management
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good knowledge of office suite, CAD and project management software
Knowledge and experience in engineering
