Job Description

JOB TITLE: Group Supply Chain Manager

PURPOSE OF JOB
To optimise the supply chain for the company group. Control of materials & stock. To work at continuously improving vendor performance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To be totally responsible for the day-to-day organisation and efficiency of Purchasing and all Suppliers.
Ensure purchased parts are to optimum value, required quality and delivery.
Maximise stock turnover and replenishment systems.
In liaison with Commercial & Sales Departments, ensure all customers receive exemplary service.
Provide support, training and guidance to key suppliers to meet the Group's expectations
Monthly cost/value review / actions on key spends.
Act as the Group's advisor on all matter relating to the purchasing function.

TASKS AND METHODS
Rigorously apply purchasing controls over the whole group to ensure best value, delivered on time, on all purchases.
As appropriate negotiate long term supply agreements with key suppliers.
Always be positive, recognise/praise good performance, empower your team to make their own decisions.
Develop a culture of continual improvement from within the team.
Ensure excellent supplier relationships.
Oversee monitoring of key supplier delivery quality and value
Negotiate contracts with suppliers who meet the Group's requirements to secure the most favourable terms of business for the Group.
Keep all supplier contracts under review to ensure they are being carried out effectively and renegotiate where necessary.
Develop and implement necessary procedures to ensure the purchasing function operates effectively and maintain an awareness of any developments in central purchasing or with suppliers to ensure the Group continues to apply the most effective procedures.
Ensure systems and procedures are understood, complied with and are the optimum.
Monitor and manage finished stock, ensuring no obsolescence or excess.
Oversee all replenishment systems ensuring all are reliable and most appropriate, review monthly with account managers and operations manager.
Ensure all company conduct, safety, housekeeping and quality procedures are rigidly followed.
Monitor and report on actions to achieve 100% material available to plan.
Report monthly on performance of department, and progress on goals and actions to the operations manager.

SALARY PACKAGE & BENEFITS
Standard working week 39 hours
Hours: 8am until 4:30pm Mon Thurs 8am 3:30pm Friday
Overtime (as available) : Rate 1.3 x hourly rate
Holidays: 23 days per year plus 8 bank holidays
