Electronic Engineer you will work as a member of a team responsible for the design, development, and documentation of Electronic assemblies that form part of Electronic products with emphasis on either the analogue or the digital aspects thereof.
The incumbent will additionally provide support to attend to electronics issues on legacy products already in production
The incumbent would have a selection of skills from the following options (The client will consider applicants with a mix of skills from the following):
Analogue circuit design from DC to RF
Switch mode power supply design (up to circa 100Watts)
Digital design including microprocessors; FPGAs; CPLDs; etc.
Typical products with which this role would come into contact include digital beam forming applications, radio, and logic translators for the control of RF systems
The development activities will range from low level research to market driven product developments.
As an Electronics Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Desired education and experience includes a Bachelor's Degree or an HNC in an applicable science or engineering discipline, with suitable industrial experience.
Minimum of 5 to 10 years of work experience in a relevant environment.
Demonstrable competence across a suitable selection of the following areas is required:
Analogue circuit design
Digital Hardware Design
Verification and testing of electronic designs
Embedded Software / Firmware coding
Experience with main FPGA families (Xilinx, Altera) or the main DSP families (Analog Devices,TI, Freescale)
Innovative approach and ability to present new ideas to the rest of the design team
Able to conduct low level, speculative research or follow structured development processes as required
As a Higher Electronics Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:
Design and Development of Electronic products
Working closely with other team members on complex product development projects
Provision of information to facilitate the generation of technical proposals, bid plans and estimates
Adherence to process and best practice
Process and business improvements
