Job Description
Due to a growth in their business, my Hampshire based client is currently recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join their team as a Team Leader / Supervisor of 4 other CNC Machinists on the Nightshift.
This is a temporary contract role that will progress into a permanent position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Acting a Team Leader / Supervisor on a Nightshift supervising 2 Millers, 2 Turners & 1 Inspector
• This is not a Management role, but more of a hands on CNC Machinist (Must be a CNC Miller) with experience of being the Leading Hand in a small team.
• You will be responsible for allocating work to other people on shift, monitoring work rates, assessing quality of work and ensure machinery is working efficiently.
You will not be programming, but will need to be good quality, higher level setter/operator.
• Using Mazak, Siemens and Yasnac controls
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
• Aerospace machining background essential (95% of the work is for the aerospace industry)
• previous experience as a CNC Miller is essential
• must able to set & operate
• Set prove run (able to at least edit if needed)
• good at setting & operating different control systems such as Fanuc
• have supervisory skills (min charge hand/leading hand of 3-4 machinists)
• able to be responsible for nightshift output/quality
• Previously worked nights
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally candidates such have at least an HND in Engineering however considerable machining experience takes precedence
HOURS
4 nights per week
Monday night to Thursday night
5:00pm start to 5:00am finish
(Overtime runs on a Friday on an adhoc basis, currently working an 11 hr shift on Friday)
RATE
up to £20/hr per hour LTD (including nightshift premium) depending upon experience and qualifications
